Your questions. Our answers.

The innovative benefit of our Rotainer® pickling systems is the completely automated processing. Degreasing, pickling, passivating, rinsing and air-washing are all part of an automated programme that is computer-controlled and monitored. As well as this enormous time saving, the rotating spray process uses considerably less pickling agent (max. 900 litres) than conventional bath pickling tanks (of a comparable size of around 20,000 litres). With the same pickling quality. And shorter pickling times.

The self-contained system of the Rotainer® systems prevents employees having to come into contact with the pickling acid (reduces accident risk) and enables the use outdoors. There is also flexibility when it comes to finance: As the Rotainer® pickling systems are mobile systems, they can be leased and normally pay off after an average of 2.5 years. Our systems represent a cost-effective and process-optimised alternative to immersion pickling tanks.

  1. The Rotainer® pickling systems have no exhaust air, as sulphuric acid is used instead of nitric acid. The acid vapours from the nitric acid-free Siedentop pickling agent TOP-acid pickling acid can be simply rinsed out of the air after pickling and the air thus washed with no exhaust gases. The air does not need to be extracted in an exhaust air wash tower.
  2. The nitric acid-free pickling prevents the depositing of crystalline metal salts, which means the pickling agent also does not need to be replaced. Only spillage losses need to be compensated. This means the pickling solution can be used virtually permanently.
  3. The water recovery is around 90 percent if the rinsing water if the Rotainer® system is processed into fully desalinated water after filtration using a vacuum distillation system. The water can then be used for further rinsing processes.
  4. The low consumption of pickling agent means less neutralisation agent is required and less hazardous waste is produced. This has the positive side effect that waste disposal costs are reduced by up to 70 percent.

Based on our innovation of this environmentally-oriented and resource-friendly pickling method, we have been nominated for the German Environment Prize and the Grand Prize for medium-sized companies.

No. The rotation pickling method uses significantly less pickling agent than conventional immersion pickling tanks, for example. The storage containers hold a maximum of 900 litres of pickling agent. According to the definition, they do not count as effective baths. This means that the Rotainer® pickling systems do not require approval in accordance with the Federal Immissions Control Act.

Siedentop offers Rotainer® pickling systems in various models and sizes and with variable equipment. The relevant pickling requirement in terms of the size and nature of workpieces and the quantity to be pickled and the technology required can be covered by our various models, including TOP Line, SMART Line, BASIC Line and MOBILE Line:

  • The TOP Line is perfect for companies requiring a lot of pickling and time-saving, fully automated processes.
  • The SMART Line is ideal for companies with lower pickling requirements and a flexible choice of pickling methods: the SMART Blue Rotainers® enable both automatic and manual pickling.
  • Our flexible standard system is the BASIC line with its solid basic equipment: customers can choose between automated and manual pickling methods.
  • The ECO line is recommended for companies with low-volume components, such as small or series components.
  • If pickling is required on building sites or changing locations, the MOBILE Line is the best option.

The TOP Line and BASIC line also offer individual bespoke designs to suit customer requirements.
